Ganesh N Rajan’s first book aims to resolve the aberrations that mental illness may cause, and awakens a sense of purpose in the here and now for the reader.
Being Here Now: Insights of an Ex-Schizophrenic does not promise anything magical. It only offers new knowledge and skills to help create, discover or unleash a personal sense of sanity, success, and wellness. Insights to help acquire such a sense emerged during the author's recovery from schizophrenia.
The book uses schizophrenia to explore many kinds of negativity both for the ostensibly sane and the obviously afflicted. It has a generous dose of prescriptive and generic advice. It also explores some ideas and techniques that can help us recognize our own uniqueness and become proactive.
Towards this end, it goes over Creation, interaction, and gumption from fresh perspectives. It attempts to demystify much of our social reality. The book furnishes a new basis for all individuals, the ordinary and the challenged, to contribute and feel accomplished.
Ganesh has thrown everything but the kitchen sink into the book in an attempt to be comprehensive. A kitchen sink in context, which you may notice as missing, are explanations for pointless pain: Pain and suffering that is neither an alarm nor a teacher or part of an addressable mission. Such issues, he says, he is saving to ask of the Big One!
